I Conquered the Hill

So it has taken me a little while to put this on. But on the 6th, I conquered the hill! What hill you ask- Hospital Hill. I completed the 10K with 2 of my sisters, a niece, and a nephew. It was a really fun race. I haven't done one in quite sometime and having been so sick lately with morning sickness, I decided to walk it. So I walked all but the last mile and that I jogged.

My official results: 1 hour and 38 minutes and 56 seconds. Not bad for a pregnant woman at 4 months who has spent most of her weeks lately on the couch sick.

So you are probably thinking I'm nuts and perhaps I am. But there was a reason for doing this. We did the race in honor of my awesome dad who is battling pancreatic cancer. He amazes me every day with his strength and perseverance. I do not know how he does what he does. He is a fighter and will always be superman in my eyes.

We were able to raise $2,390 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Although Pancreatic Cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer death in the US, it constitutes less than 2% of National Cancer Institutes federal research. If you still want to donate, there is time.
