My little Geisha

So Sariah got to do her trick or treating a day early. We went up to
James' work for their Halloween festivities and then to the ward chili
cookoff and trick or treat.

This year Sariah was a geisha. She was so cute. The costume did have
a wig which she wouldn't wear. So good for me I have a daughter with a
ton of long hair that actually went up in a ponytail so I could do the
cute decorated chopsticks. At the work party, she didn't quite
understand the whole bag thing. She refused to put her candy in her
bag and instead insisted on holding it all in her hands. But
thankfully at the ward party she understood to put it all in her bag
and was even saying trick or treat by the end of it. What a fun
Hallloween. (early)

50% off at Payless

Hey my friend Liz sent this to me and I thought I would post it for others. Even though I DVR Oprah, sometimes I take a long time to watch it or don't watch it at all if it doesn't interest me.

But I do LOVE when she teams up with a company to do a freebie or good coupon. So this time it is 50% off anything in the store at Payless through tomorrow. You have to print the coupon or get the text and take it to the store to get it!

Whooohoo a great excuse to go and buy some shoes! I NEEDED new black boots anyways! :)

Just a dream.... sigh

Last night I had a dream that my water broke! But alas it was just a
dream.

Another doctor appointment this afternoon. Hoping to be more dilated
but trying to prepare to be a one and not be disappointed.

Hoarding

I watched an old Oprah the other day about hoarders. It was
interesting and of course gave me some decluttering motivation.

But then te next day I got a little worried about Sariah. Is she
already turning into a hoarder? She used to just tuck her bears back
in on her bed. But lately she has been finding random things and
filling her bed throughout the day. I don't know where this came from
but as you can see from the pictures she gets quite a collection going
- even before her nap. Which I then remove for her nap and she does a
new one before bed time.

Hungry Bears

Sariah has 3 bears that are her babies. She tucks them back in bed in
the morning and often tells me they are hungry. Here she has them all
set up with applesauce, a bowl and a fork. Ready to eat!

Some pregnancy pictures

I'm 36 weeks along in these. I had James take some pictures before I went to Time Out for Women because I was dressed up all cute. I decided that going to TOFW was the best ego booster for a super pregnant person. I had so many complete strangers tell me how cute I was and couldn't believe how far a long I was. Made me feel so good!

The loneliest number

Disclaimer: If words like dilation, labor, etc are too much information for you then go ahead and stop reading now!

I started my weekly doctor visits yesterday. Whoohoo- really more like Ugh. It does help the time go by faster because you feel like you are constantly going to the doctor. But it is just a headache for me. And even worse this time around because I have to figure out a babysitter for each visit.

Now back to the title. Let me give a little background. Sariah was induced at a week late. When I started my weekly visits with her, they said you are dilated to a 1. I was so happy that I was making progress. That was until I went in the next week and was a 1. Then the next week was a 1. Then the next week was a 1 . All the while having Braxton Hicks- that apparently did NOTHING! Since even the day I went to be induced, I was having contractions and was surprise, surprise a ONE!!!

So I’ve decided that 1 is the loneliest number. And yes yesterday felt pretty lonely! As they did my check, and bless the doctor’s heart as she happily announced I was dilated to a 1. She was so positive saying that meant I was starting to make progress and it was a good sign, yada yada. I tried to put on a happy face for her, but was disappointed inside. Hopefully this doesn’t mean the same trend will happen.

I know I should be happy that I wasn’t a 0. That would have really stunk! But I thought with all the sporadic contractions and discomfort I’m experiencing surely I would be a 2. Better luck next week I suppose!

Our buddy Ryan

Today was so nice that I couldn't deny going to park day play group.
And we were so lucky that Rob, Ryan, and Seth could join us. As we
were leaving Sariah and Ryan were so sweet and held each others hand
in the parking lot. (and as you can tell by the funky picture angle,
I'm holding Sariah's other hand.) It was the cutest thing. Melt my
heart!

How I'm feeling

Everyone is asking how I'm feeling these days. My general response is "Pregnant" I'm at 35 weeks now so just a little longer and I'm in the clear zone to have the baby.

When do I think he will come? I'm really unsure at this point. Sariah was induced at a week late. I am REALLY hoping that won't be the case this time. I know that often the body knows what to do the second time around and that gives me more hope. I would really prefer not to be induced if possible. It really wasn't horrible last time, but well I just was having perma contractions from the pitocin and never went back down. So yep I was ready for the epidural pretty early.

He is just sitting much more uncomfortably. Maybe because even at this point he still thinks he has room to do his back flips and extended yoga poses. So yeah another week or so and I would be okay with having him. Don't want him to be too early, but soon enough I'm sure he will be here.

I would post a picture but I'm not looking all fancy tonight. So maybe tomorrow when I actually have makeup on! hehehe

Sunday tradition

So it has become tradition now that every Sunday we have grilled ham
and cheese sandwiches from the sandwich maker. It started as
something easy and quick that was filling before Sunday naps. But
today we got home and James said so grilled cheese? So I guess that
confirms that it is now tradition.

I need to have some words with Mr. Hicks

Braxton Hicks that is. I have been having them for weeks now and they are just NO FUN! Not seriously painful or anything just uncomfortable. I'm just tired of them. I have another week and a half before they will check to see if these are actually doing anything. But I'm pretty skeptical of them because I know I had it with Sariah too and it did nothing. I was at a 1 the whole time even when I went into be induced at a week late. I'm not sure I can make it until a week late this time. Here's to hoping this baby isn't late!

The dentist

So today Sariah had her second "dentist appointment.". I put that in
quotes because I'm not sure if it really counts if they don't actually
do anything.

Everyone knows Sariah is not a stranger friendly girl. Oh she will act
friendly sometimes saying hi, waving etc. But if you try to hold her,
take her, even touch her you will get a fierce stink eye and probably
some crocodile tears. And that is what happens at the dentist along
with a lot of no.

This time was no different than the last. She loved the waiting room
toys as seen in the pictures. Especially the giant bear. But as soon
as we got back to the room all cooperation stopped.

I sit there wondering why she has such crazy separation anxiety. I
really thought by now she would be over that. But even though I don't
think she really fully understands we are having a baby she knows
things are changing and the closer we get to the due date the more
clingy she becomes. So who knows. I think she will love the baby but
not want to share mom.

So the next dentist appointment, I'm making James take her. Mainly to
see if she does better with him. But selfishly, if she acts the same I
want him to know how stinky it is for me to take her and have her
cry. I know I'm bad.

First big theater movie

Tonight we took Sariah to her first movie at the theater. Well at the
$2 theater. We went to see Up.

The parrot polka

I love when Sariah dances with stuff on TV. Here she is doing the
"parrot polka" with Sesame Street. What can I say she's got skills!

But I paid for that

With the new baby coming, the space in the house is dissappearing. I
used to have a whole room for crafts and storage but Ben now gets
that. So I'm working hard to declutter but it is so hard to do. Even
small stuff. It is like I know at some point I paid for these things
so I have trouble giving them away. Books, supplies, etc. And
tightening the budget has brought back all my worst clutter demons. I
think I might need that at some point- even though I haven't needed it
in several months or years past. Why is it so easy to accumulate
stuff and so hard to get rid of it?

Goal tonight: box up at books for goodwill.

Outside fun

After being sick for days, nothing feels better than a little time outside. So Sariah and I headed out to play and I actually thought to grab my camera. So here are a few cute pictures of my big girl.

Doesn't she look so big walking down the side walk all by herself?
We love bubbles. She now asks for them anytime we go near the outside. Even when we are just getting in the car to go somewhere.
I LOVE this next picture! Can I just say I have the most beautiful daughter! I know there is no humility here. But this is my blog and I can brag on my baby if I want!

The fun of dandelions! I tried to show her how to blow the seeds/petals. But she still gets it too close to her mouth sometimes and then they get in her mouth which she definitely didn't like. So she prefers to pull the seeds/petals and throw them on the ground instead.

So I want to encourage everyone to get out with their kids. And take your camera! I just set mine to the sports/speed setting and snapped as many as I could. You just never know what moments you will catch!
