Thanks for the water

So this morning was pretty rough.  I normally sleep in in the morning because I have an awesome daughter who usually sleeps until about 8:30.  I’m just not a morning person in any way!  So for my church calling, I was asked to go to Youth Conference to take pictures of their service projects so we could hopefully get an article in the local papers.  Well this required getting up at 6:30 AM.  Which went fine.  I got up and got ready and went.  I hit some construction problems on the way (the exit I planned to take was closed, but you didn’t know it was closed until you took it and you couldn’t turn left!)  So I still got there on time- mostly because they started late. hehe  But as they start and I’m standing there…I I start to feel light headed.   Then start to feel hot and weak.  And I know what this can mean.  Basically, it can mean you are about ready to faint or get really sick.  And because I have fainted before, I think to myself I should probably sit down.  After sitting, I start to feel better but still pretty bad.  I thought I was probably dehydrated (after all this is why I have fainted before.)  So step into the hall to get a drink of water and sit out there.  James called and just getting up to answer and tell him a couple things sends me back over the edge.

So I’m sitting there thinking.  Well Crum!  What am I going to do.  I’m supposed to be going around and taking pictures and yet I can barely stand.  Also I drove myself and I’m all the way in St. Joseph, MO

Then I start to feel really sick.  I have 2 options.  One is to walk about 10 feet to the other couch and grab the trash can to throw up.  The other is to try to figure out where the bathroom is.  Well when you are seriously sick, may I suggest go for the easy trash can.  You just never know if you can find the bathroom in time.  And as embarrassing as throwing up in front of everyone in the trash can is, it is WAY better than not making it to the bathroom and throwing up on the floor in front of everyone.  (I have done this too! Ah the joy of pregnancy- the most humbling experience!)

So I know you are wondering what the title has to do with me throwing up in the trash.  And if I haven’t lost you by now then you are a dedicated reader!  I wanted to give thanks to Amber!  She happened by as I’m getting sick.  She gave me one her waters and got me tissues and just sat with me until I felt better.  It was so nice and comforting.  Thankfully, after throwing up I felt a lot better and was able to go take the pictures.

What a morning!

That just goes to show you that nothing good comes from getting up at 6:30...maybe this means you little boy will like to sleep in as well!
