New sleep record

Eli slept from 10:30pm until 8:00am. Yay!! And even when I came in at 8 he was just quietly hanging out in his crib. Now if only Ben would stay in his bed this momma might actually get some rest.

Eating my blankies

I think Eli had begun the long teething process. My kids seem to start this process around 3 months but nothing breaks through until about 6 months.

But for now he loves to eat his thumbs, blankies and burp clothes.

Smack talk

So tonight I learned that we need to work on Sariah's smack talk. We were playing the I Spy matching card game. She kept telling me, "Mom I'm going to beat up you because I'm really good at matching games." I tried to explain the difference between beating me and beating me up to no avail. She just kept telling me she was going to beat me up.

Everyday

Must blog everyday.....

So I don't always get my resolution to blog everyday done. Especially not lately with the busyness of life and lack of sleep. But that is life right?

Tonight James and I slipped away to catch a movie- The Hunger Games. It was great. I think we both just needed a night out and away. Super happy to have Nana back to help watch the kids. They love having her and I love being able to ask her.

It was so nice to have a week off from classes that starting back up this week has been hard. I'm up late tonight doing school work when I would just assume be in bed. But when it is all done I know I will be glad I did it. At least that is what I tell myself on nights like this.

That's my boy

Not sure how Eli does it, but most mornings he manages to fall asleep on his own with the other kids running and screaming all around him. Love this boy!

Thumb update

So my thumb is still healing. Thankfully I was able to remove the nail so I won't snag it on stuff. But the top half is basically paper thin since I had to remove the top layers of nail. I will be happy when it is all grown back. But I'm happy for now that I can use it again without being in crazy pain.

Nana is back

My mom got back today. So excited to have Nana home. My favorite was when I told Sariah that Nana was coming back soon she said, "Nana can sleep in my room. I'll share it with her."

Long day

Wow today flew by and was long all at the same time. The big bummer tonight is that my back is hurting. I think I tweeked it yesterday while doing a major overhaul cleaning on the van. Ugh. Will it just stay healed!! So frustrating to me.

We have lots of excitement in the works and lots of work going on around our house. I want to blog about it but not sure I'm ready. And it's late. So for tonight I'll let you wonder and maybe soon I'll share more.

Sicky baby

Poor Eli is either teething or has a cold. I think it is a cold because he is congested and coughing. He sounds so sad with his cough. And he's of course too young to do much for. Hopefully it will pass soon.

A million

I know I have a million pictures of each of my kids in this pose. But when you snuggle them up late at night like this I just can't help it. Eli is growing so fast. He is the best little talker. He says hi, ohhh, yeah, ahh. I mean really how sweet. And his giggles are the best. He loves when you make laughing noises. He'll smile really big and then giggle back at you.

Reading and fake crying

I was reading the story of the little mermaid to Sariah tonight. I started to fake cry when the dad destroys all her stuff. Sariah gives me a little sassy look and says, "Mom that's fake drama we don't do that."

Super pain

Okay I know it doesn't look like much but I'm in crazy pain and plan to take the rest of the day off. Hehe okay maybe not take the day off but this is super painful. I was cleaning the fridge. There are these little slide pieces that change the drawers humidity. One was stuck and I stubbornly decided I would force it. And yes I got it unstuck, but in the process did some serious damage to my thumb nail. I have broken it about halfway down. And if you've never done this then you don't know that it is the injury that keeps on giving. Aka anytime you put any pressure on it a little more of the nail tries to pull off the skin. So now I'm super thumb bandaid girl. And it still hurts so bad!!

Braids

I'm not super good at braiding Sariah's hair so I don't do it very often. It is also fine and falls out easily. But after baths today, I decided to take the time to braid it. I think this is possibly the best job I've ever done.

Protein bars

Okay first I promise he isn't eating the wrapper even though it looks that way in the picture. But Ben loves protein bars as much as his mommy. The Zone bars are so good. Just like a yummy candy bar so we have to be careful not to eat them all day. But yummy!

Big boy

He just seems so big to me!!

Weekends

Lately, I feel like I need another weekend after my weekend. They have just been so full and I don't feel rested and ready for another week to come. Tonight, I wish I could say I feel ready for another week but I don't. We stayed up late all weekend and I didn't get much rest. I napped today but still feel totally wiped.

Hopefully, Monday will be kind to me.

Color

It wasn't even 9:15 before Ben had already found a crayon, asked for paper, and made this. I love my little artist.

Nice weather

It was so nice today. The kids and I played outside after naps. My driveway is now appropriately covered in side walk chalk. Ben is becoming quite the artist. He LOVES to color. He will ask for it at least once a day. If he's upset, offering to let him color usually calms him down. So it was cute to see him color all over the driveway today. He's way more into it than Sariah was at his age. I need to try to post some of his cute scribbly artwork.
