So we have decided to switch to organic milk. Hopefully we can also do local with Shatto but at least organic. This is honestly a big switch for us. We aren't the kind of family that just uses milk to cook with or on cereal. No we go thru 3 gallons a week! So at double the price yeah it is a bit of a budget killer. But I truly think it is better for us and James is on board with the switch. I'm also trying to make other changes- buy more organic produce, cage/antibiotic free eggs, and hoping to change some of the meat we eat. All part of getting away from packaged food. So we'll see how it goes. But today milk...

I buy theirs often, but have found it goes bad much, much quicker. And it stinks that eating healthier has to cost so much more.
For this spring, just an idea. Last year I bought large pots, bags of organic garden soil & had the girls plant various types of lettuce. It grows so amazingly easy and they loved it. I bet sariah would love it as well. And a packet of organic seeds was something like 2 dollars.
when spring comes i will take you to the city market. its the only way to do organic without breaking the bank. also i'm a big fan of shatto, and just fyi the date on the bottle is the sell by date, not use by- mrs. shatto told me so :)
