Walking

So everyone knows that Sariah has been pretty lazy in the walking department. She is past 18 months and would still only walk if you would hold both hands. She has strong legs and would walk everywhere on her knees regardless of how painful I imagined the surface she was on to be (concrete, rough carpet, grass, wood, etc.) But she is very strong willed already and we knew that forcing her wasn't working. So I began to pray that she would have the desire to walk. And last night the time finally came! She had been taking 2 steps sparatically this past week. Then last night I was holding her sides and said just go. And she walked away from me and just kept going!! I was IN SHOCK!!! I couldn't believe it. She fell over and I picked her up and said "Again?" And she kept going again. Then after a couple of times of that she stood up all on her own without the use of a couch, wall or me. She is still a bit unstable but she can really move. She just kept walking around for a good half hour. Here is just one of the MANY videos I took during the process. She had gotten pretty tired by this point, but man look at her go!!

After church

Funny I feel the same way after church.

Thanks for the water

So this morning was pretty rough.  I normally sleep in in the morning because I have an awesome daughter who usually sleeps until about 8:30.  I’m just not a morning person in any way!  So for my church calling, I was asked to go to Youth Conference to take pictures of their service projects so we could hopefully get an article in the local papers.  Well this required getting up at 6:30 AM.  Which went fine.  I got up and got ready and went.  I hit some construction problems on the way (the exit I planned to take was closed, but you didn’t know it was closed until you took it and you couldn’t turn left!)  So I still got there on time- mostly because they started late. hehe  But as they start and I’m standing there…I I start to feel light headed.   Then start to feel hot and weak.  And I know what this can mean.  Basically, it can mean you are about ready to faint or get really sick.  And because I have fainted before, I think to myself I should probably sit down.  After sitting, I start to feel better but still pretty bad.  I thought I was probably dehydrated (after all this is why I have fainted before.)  So step into the hall to get a drink of water and sit out there.  James called and just getting up to answer and tell him a couple things sends me back over the edge.

So I’m sitting there thinking.  Well Crum!  What am I going to do.  I’m supposed to be going around and taking pictures and yet I can barely stand.  Also I drove myself and I’m all the way in St. Joseph, MO

Then I start to feel really sick.  I have 2 options.  One is to walk about 10 feet to the other couch and grab the trash can to throw up.  The other is to try to figure out where the bathroom is.  Well when you are seriously sick, may I suggest go for the easy trash can.  You just never know if you can find the bathroom in time.  And as embarrassing as throwing up in front of everyone in the trash can is, it is WAY better than not making it to the bathroom and throwing up on the floor in front of everyone.  (I have done this too! Ah the joy of pregnancy- the most humbling experience!)

So I know you are wondering what the title has to do with me throwing up in the trash.  And if I haven’t lost you by now then you are a dedicated reader!  I wanted to give thanks to Amber!  She happened by as I’m getting sick.  She gave me one her waters and got me tissues and just sat with me until I felt better.  It was so nice and comforting.  Thankfully, after throwing up I felt a lot better and was able to go take the pictures.

What a morning!

Dancing

I know the picture is fuzzy. Here is James dancing with Sariah at a
wedding reception we went to Saturday. She was completely worn out
because we spent the whole morning at the zoo and her only nap was the
ride back. About 30 minutes compared to a normal 2 hours. But she did
look cute dancing with her Daddy.

Socks

Sariah loves to try to put clothes on right now. Shirts, pants, socks.
Especially Daddy's socks. This started with her putting the sock on
her own foot. But apparently my foot looked cold so she brought it
over and tried to put it on my foot. What service!

SpagettiOs

Sariah has been a very picky eater lately. Things she loved Monday are
suddenly disgusting on Tuesday. So much to my surprise today she
actually wanted, ate, and enjoyed spagettios.
