I know most of you have seen these, but I have to get them on the blog. These are Sariah's leggings I made for Christmas. I think they are the cutest thing!! And yes I bribed her with holding a present to have her sit still for more pictures! hehe

The stocking photos
Okay, if you are a Mayo these photos will need no explanation, but for those of you who aren't here is the deal.
First, my mom started the tradition of making us stockings when we were born. She made them out of whatever yarn she had and all of ours are different. Since then she has been making stockings for each new in law and all the grandkids. She stopped putting names on them a while back, and so now we have to. After spending much of my Saturday putting James (yes I've had his for a while and never added the name) and Sariah's names on their stockings, I know why she stopped doing it. It took forever!! But here are our stockings:
The next tradition- I don't know when it started. I think with the first grandkid? Maybe my siblings can tell me. But it is another family tradition that you get your photo taken in your stocking on your first Christmas as a baby. So Sariah just barely missed the cut last year. So she is pretty big for her stocking but luckily they stretch really well. Here are her stocking pictures for her first Christmas:

Honey, you make me laugh
So many of you know that my husband doesn't always think about what he is going to say before he says it. So this often leads to foot in mouth syndrome. But occasionally what he says just cracks me up.
So I made dinner the other night. And I'm hurrying to eat it before leaving for a meeting. James is sitting next to me and is telling me how good it is. Here's sort of how it went:
James: Honey, this is some of the tastiest chicken I think you've ever made!
Me: (Giving him a goofy look)
James: It's not chicken.
Me: Nope it's pork chops.
I was still happy he thought it tasted so good! hehehe
Then last night he was working out and I was sitting talking to him on the couch. He had brought down a glass of water that was sitting in the tray on our ottoman. But while working out he grabs a glass of water from the ledge (this wasn't fresh..in fact I'm not sure when it was set there.) He proceeds to take a big sip and then realizes that it wasn't the water he had brought down. He goes and spits it out in the bathroom. I point out that I don't know when that water was from and that his was on the ottoman. He comes back in and want to rinse his mouth and somehow he still grabs the old glass of water. I'm dying laughing at this point as he realizes that he again got the wrong glass. This time he poured out the old water so there would be no more mistaking. It was just funny.
Not sure if these stories will make sense to anyone else. Maybe they are one of those you had to be there things. But I laughed pretty hard both times!

And what was Sariah doing?
So the previous post had a bunch of pictures in it. So you may be thinking, I wonder what Sariah was doing while her mommy was taking all these pictures.....
Finally done with the painting
So many of you have seen this in its various stages. A while back I got the painting bug. I decided to do some canvases which I posted on the blog earlier. With those turning out okay, I decided to get more adventurous and paint right on the wall. There was an empty wall in my master bedroom that I had wanted to do something with for a while. The problem was that it is our walkway around the bed and I didn't want something that would stick way out. So I decided to paint on it to add some more character to the room.
Here is the picture that I took the idea from:
Inspiration Art:
Then came the humble beginnings. With a pencil sketch and starting to paint:Here it is almost done (without the darker outline):
And finally I finished it last week: (Total it took about 3 months of slowly working at it just 5 minutes here and there)
And here are some snaps up close of various parts:

Drinking
So on Sunday, our friend Marc asked me if Sariah had any jaundice because she looked a little yellow. I told him she has always had a bit of an olive complexion and I have no idea where she gets it from. But since he said that I have been looking at her more closely and she does seem a little yellow. James has always thought that she is dehydrated and now I'm starting to worry a bit. She really doesn't drink. She hasn't taken a bottle in a long time. She just refuses them. Doesn't want them in her mouth at all. I thought that was okay and I would just transition her straight to a sippy. No big deal. Well she had just finally started taking the sippy when she got sick. And now she is back to not really wanting it either. She will chew on them, but doesn't really want to drink out of it. I tried the straw again today. She actually took a couple of sips!! Whooo hooo. But I'm just thinking how can I get her to drink more. She really only nurses in the morning and at night. The doctor said that when I wean her completely, that she will start drinking because her thirst will kick in. But I don't think she is getting enough now. Any suggestions? I think I'm just going to have to really push it on her all the time. Just every spare second try to give her something.

Not sure about this Santa guy
So at our church Christmas party, we were treated to a special guest appearance by Mr. Santa himself. I've been debating about whether or not to take Sariah to go and have her picture taken with Santa. I thought this would be great to see what she thought of him. Well I think the picture says it all. She just cried- instantly- big crocodile tears!!

New Header
So time to change it up again. The last one was from Halloween. So Sariah humored me today and let me do some self pics of the two of us!
Here are a couple of just her...
Crawling around like a pro!!
I love people who can't count
I know what you are thinking an accountant that likes people who can't count?? No it isn't for job security...it is for sugary goodness!!! So I did a last minute road trip yesterday with Kiera. It was a blast. Long drive for our poor little babies' bums...but I had fun hanging out and chatting. On the way back, we were hitting traffic and weather in Independence. Kiera suggested since we were already going slow we might as well pull off and grab some donuts. I tried really hard to talk her out of it, but there was no stopping the woman!!! hahaha Okay whatever..I said yes as soon as I heard the word Krispy.
I decided on donut holes to take home. So I ordered 2 dozen. To make this simple that should have been 24. When the girl handed Kiera the box she was like wow that is heavy. The girl behind the counter said yeah I can't count. So I just threw a bunch in.
Below is after James and I snacked on them last night and some of today and I think there are still over 40!!!

Bad mommy
So as I was getting ready this morning I was letting Sariah crawl around on the floor. Of course her new found facination is the cabinets under the sink. So she was banging them open and closed. I thought to myself, "I should move her so she doesn't smush her fingers...I'm almost done she will be okay..." Then as I'm going to get her, yep she starts crying. She had one hand in the side with the hinges and had used her other hand to shut the cabinet door on it. I felt like such a bad mommy. As I have my crying baby with an imprint in her little fingers from the cabinet. Ahhhh I should have moved her. Thankfully all her fingers are still working and the imprint is gone now and she seems fine. But no more playing with the cabinets!!

For Cheryl
This is a little reply to your post "I has it...indeed." I thought maybe you would feel better if your realized you weren't alone. And in looking at my desk this morning, I more than knew you weren't alone. See my desk:
Feel better? Everyone has a messy desk! Right? (And no I won't show my craft room because it is waaaaay worse! Yikes!)
(And yes I had to have Sariah in the picture so it didn't look quite so bad!)

Bow Rama
So I wanted to make something to hold Sariah's bows and headbands. This is what I came up with. Now I need to make more bows to fill it up! hehehe I think it turned out pretty cute!
